TUM Sustainability Day: Artificial Intelligence for Sustainability – Opportunities and Challenges
October 27, 2022 – 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is often seen as a panacea to societal problems or a threat to our current values. However, the reality usually lies somewhere in between. AI has tremendous potential to aid in working towards sustainability goals, but it also comes with many ethical and social consideration and challenges that must not be overlooked.
As part of the 2022 TUM Sustainability Day, researchers from the Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (IEAI) will showcase their research related to sustainability. They will be tackling issues like smart cities and mobility, sustainable mining, and AI enabled earth observation in order to generate a broader discussion on the role of technology in achieving sustainability goals.
This event will take place on October 27th at 01:00 pm CET at Marsstraße 20, Room 140.
