In our Research Brief “Ethics of surveillance: harnessing the use of live facial recognition technologies in public spaces for law enforcement” we discuss the implementation of these systems in the particular context of public space surveillance by public authorities for law enforcement purposes.
In our October 2021 Research Brief, we focus on the ethical principle of fairness and investigate how fairness issues can arise within such tools, potential mitigation approaches, as well as how fairness relates to other ethics concepts.
