In line with the Global AI Ethics Consortium's (GAIEC) agenda of promoting the impact and strengthening the role of public and civil society participation, the GAIEC and the IEAI are pleased to announce the launch of the GAIEC Civil Society Repository.
The effort to make sure that technologies are beneficial to society needs to be a globally collaborative one. Academia, with its broad access across different disciplines and cultures, can connect and build international research communities, collaborative networks and global consortia working together on AI ethics-related issues.

The AI Ethics: Global Perspectives is designed to raise awareness and help institutions work toward more responsible use of AI. Intended for policymakers, students—and anyone interested.
The GAIEC Repository centralizes data, publications and other work from our members and those working on AI ethics, broadly.
In an effort to expand the scope of research on AI and its use in health related crises, and to further promote the Global AI Ethics Consortium, the IEAI will support four new research projects starting this fall with a total of €400,000 in funding.
The weapons deployed in the fight against the covid-19 pandemic also include artificial intelligence. AI might be able to recognize patterns in the spread of the disease, for example. These new possibilities raise ethical issues, however.
The COVID-19 crisis has already changed daily life in innumerable ways, and it will continue to have a significant impact as it shifts global opinion, politics, and approaches to combating pandemics and crises of all kinds.
