Lukas J. Meier has joined the METHAD research project, which is focussing on developing an advisory system for ethically relevant decision making in clinical practice. Lukas studied philosophy and political science at the universities of Göttingen and Oxford. He explored the topics of brain death and personal identity in his PhD thesis at the universities of St Andrews and Heidelberg. His publications include “Are the Irreversibly Comatose Still here? The Destruction of Brains and the Persistence of Persons” and “ The Demise of Brain Death” amongst others. His presentations include “Organ Donation after Brain Death as a Special Case of Euthanasia” at the End of Life and Euthanasia Conference in Prague in November 2019, as well as  “How Space and Time Make Us the Subjects We Are” at the University of Cambridge in September 2019.
